Couple of weeks ago we have announced that Rudić is coming back to coaching. Well it was just for the one game spectacle to honor great Tamas Kasas.
This time Ratko is back, and he is back on a big stage. He will be at the helm of the great Pro Recco. Italian club is arguably the best team in the world.
After falling short in the Champions League three years in the row, most decorated club in the world needed a new lifeline. Who’s better than Ratko.
Whenever any program in the world needed that extra boost Ratko was there to do his magic. While with former Yugoslavia, Ratko was able to secure two golds at the Olympics defeating very strong USA teams.
His next challenge was Italy which at that time was in the change of the generations and in the decline. He again led his team to the gold medal against favoring Spanish team.
Next he took on a challenge with the USA team that was really struggling with the results. Although he didn’t medal in 2004 with them he left the very well organized squad that won silver medal in 2008 Olympics.
His era with the Croatian teams, from 2007 to 2016, can be called golden era since Croatia won gold in all of the major competitions.
Ratko led Brazilian team in 2016 where they managed to beat great Serbian team in the group stages but fell short later on.
Most decorated Olympic coach will definitely be a great addition to the already great club. This could be the easiest challenge for Ratko thus far.
